FAWT undertakes a unique role in its aim of attracting funding to support research into practical methods of ‘welfare-friendly’ farm animal husbandry systems, and in fostering wider awareness and understanding of the way we use animals in our food supply.  There are a number of other charitable or public sector organisations that share a concern for farm animal welfare - providing advice to farmers, information to the public or advocating improvements in the way the animals which provide our food are treated.   These include:
